From the Viking Age to the Future

Denmark's cultural heritage
Plus+energy wooden houses from Træhuse Nordsjælland set the standard for sustainable and intelligent homes. For more than 1,000 years, wooden houses have been part of Denmark's cultural heritage, and their significance extends far beyond the history books. Today, Plus+energy wooden houses from Træhuse Nordsjælland are ready to shape the housing landscape of the future with their technological advances and focus on sustainability.

Træhuse Nordsjælland are pioneers in wooden house construction and have a deep understanding of the latest technology and its impact on both people and the environment. Their Plus+energy wooden houses represent the technical excellence in wooden house construction in the Nordic region and offer unparalleled quality and safety for families who want to live in the best.

Sustainable heat exchange
With geothermal and air-to-water heat pumps, Plus+energy wooden houses take full advantage of nature's resources for heating. These innovative solutions ensure efficient and sustainable heat exchange, reducing energy consumption and contributing to a cleaner future. The solar cell technology in Plus+energi wooden houses is tailored to make optimal use of the sun's energy. The latest and most efficient solar cells are integrated into the design of the houses and produce green electricity, making the homes more self-sufficient and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

Træhuse Nordsjælland is also innovative in the field of energy storage. By developing creative and advanced energy storage solutions, they ensure that surplus energy from solar cells and heat pumps can be stored for later use. This makes homes more flexible and self-sufficient, resulting in increased energy efficiency.

Modern insulation materials
The insulation in Plus+energy wooden houses is carefully selected to achieve maximum efficiency and comfort. Modern insulation materials and techniques reduce heat loss and create a comfortable indoor climate all year round, while minimizing energy consumption. The heat recovery technology in Plus+energy wooden houses is a revolutionary feature that recycles heat from used air or the ventilation system to heat fresh air. This increases energy efficiency and improves both comfort and the indoor climate in the home. Once you have lived in a house with ventilation, you cannot do without it.

Human needs and environmental conservation
In the coming years, Plus+energy wooden houses from Træhuse Nordsjælland will increase in demand. Their intelligent, sustainable, and technically advanced solutions are the safe choice for families who want the best wooden house in the Nordic region. Træhuse Nordsjælland is leading the way in the development of wooden houses, with a constant focus on the latest technology, human needs, and environmental conservation. Here, sustainability, responsibility, and common sense prevail.

MORE THAN JUST A HOUSE

More and more people are choosing to build and live in wooden houses, and their reasons are many and varied, e.g. green transition, environment, responsibility, climate, CO2 footprint, sustainability, energy savings, common sense, peace and quiet, balance, indoor climate, well-being, geothermal heating, solar cells, cosiness, forest, lake and nature. There is no doubt that wooden houses are extremely popular – a popularity that is only growing year by year.

Love for wooden houses
There is a clear increase in demand for wooden houses. For us, there is no doubt about the reason behind Danes' deep love for wooden houses, and once you have lived in a Plus+energy house, you will have no doubt either. We humans have a deep love for wooden houses.

Good indoor climate and a healthy environment
Wooden houses provide a very well-ventilated indoor climate, which is a huge advantage if any of the residents suffer from allergies. Once you have experienced the luxury of fresh air intake, you will never want to be without it again. Whether you have allergies or not, you will feel more alert and energetic than if you lived in a house without ventilation.

Unwanted condensation and moisture in the house
The Plus+energy house has a very good and healthy indoor climate. There are no draughts from the windows or unwanted condensation and moisture in the house, which has a huge impact on our general health. Ventilation of the house is a definite plus.

A pleasant and cozy atmosphere
Many owners of wooden houses say that the atmosphere in their homes is exceptional and indescribably wonderful—a dream to live in. We are all familiar with the idyllic image of a beautiful wooden house that epitomizes coziness, the scent of wood and well-being, and where it is always nice and cozy to be. This is exactly the image that owners of wooden houses can describe all year round, and it is one of the decisive factors in why they are so popular.

Warm, cozy, and modern wooden houses
If you are the type who loves to save money wherever possible, then wooden houses are a contributing factor to your extra enjoyment. Wooden houses are very easy to heat, so you will always be guaranteed a cozy temperature—it doesn't get any better than that for both your wallet and your comfort. The houses feel warm, cozy, airy, and safe.

A beautiful and smart house
Design your dream house in wood and build it smartly with significant savings. Have it built as a shell, co-build or a finished house. Dreams, design and quality must be balanced within the family's finances, so it is essential that the house project is planned with the help of a skilled and experienced person who is able to listen and understand your needs.

Peace and harmony
Plus+energy houses have a unique and special effect on people, young and old, and all other living creatures. The structure of the house makes it extremely soundproof and peaceful to live in, meaning that we are not disturbed by unwanted noises. We could compare it to living in the countryside next to a beautiful forest, where it is quiet, pleasant, and safe with nature as your neighbor, as opposed to the busy city, where there are often more neighbors, poorer acoustics, noise, and vibrations from busy traffic with cars, music, machines, etc.

The feeling of living in the countryside
The best way to describe the Plus+energy house is that it gives you the feeling of living in the countryside rather than in the city, regardless of where the house is built. The general health and well-being of people and animals is closely linked to the choices we make. The Plus+energy houses of the future will make a huge difference to our lives, which is why we highly recommend these houses.

16 advantages of wooden houses

Here are 16 advantages of buying a wooden house:

Wood is a renewable material that can help reduce your home's carbon footprint. Wooden houses are therefore an environmentally friendly choice that can help reduce your climate impact.

  4. Strength
Wood is actually stronger than steel in relation to its weight. This means that wood is an excellent building material that can be used to construct solid and stable houses.

  5. Adaptability
Wood can be easily shaped and adapted to different designs and styles. This means that you can create a unique and personal home that suits your tastes and needs.

  6. Aesthetics
Wood provides a natural and warm appearance that many people prefer. There is something special about luxury wooden houses that can create a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

  7. Comfort-
Wood can help regulate humidity and temperature, creating a more comfortable indoor climate. This means you can enjoy a healthy and comfortable home all year round.

  8. Sound absorption

  9. Easy to insulate
Wooden houses are easy to insulate, which further reduces your energy consumption and heating costs.

  10. Faster construction time

  16. Good investment

Sustainable construction

Sustainable drawing

UN criteria for sustainability
Sustainable construction is a term used to describe construction that meets the UN criteria for sustainability. This means that a building must be sustainable in environmental, economic, and social terms. In short, this means that a building has the least possible impact on the environment, that the overall economics of the building from construction to demolition are as good as possible, and that the building is as good as possible for people to live in. Environmental sustainability includes parameters such as energy efficiency, resource consumption, use of renewable resources, the ability to minimize environmental and climate impacts (both global and local), and reducing the impact on biodiversity.

Sustainable forestry
In practice, this means, for example, that the wood used in construction comes from sustainable forestry. It also means that insulation and windows are designed so efficiently that energy consumption is minimal throughout the building's lifetime. Economic sustainability focuses on optimizing the operation of a building and includes (in addition to a focus on operating costs) the possibility of higher rental prices, increased productivity for the user of the building, value stability, and better financing options.

The total economy of construction
In practice, the focus here is, for example, on using materials and constructions that facilitate cleaning or have a longer service life before they need to be replaced. In addition, energy consumption also plays a role in economic
sustainability. Economic sustainability works with the concept of total economy, which looks at the overall economy over the lifetime of a building rather than just the construction costs. Social sustainability has to do with the building's added value on the user side, including user satisfaction and well-being, better indoor climate, increased flexibility, accessibility for all, and safety and security. In practice, this means that all residents in, for example, a residential building have access to daylight and fresh air. It also means minimizing noise and odors.

Sustainable Plus+energy houses
Building modern houses out of wood is basically the only and most sustainable way to build. As a building material, wood has a significantly lower carbon footprint than other traditional building materials such as brick, aerated concrete, and concrete. The very long lifespan of these houses also means that they can be used as homes for many years to come. However, environmental considerations are not the only benefit you get when you choose a carbon-friendly Plus+energy house.

Plus+energy houses from Træhuse Nordsjælland are market leaders in the construction of homes with super-low energy consumption, and our Plus+ energy houses are probably the wooden houses on the market with the lowest actual energy consumption. This is ensured through the use of ground source heat pumps, free cooling, underfloor heating, ventilation systems, and solar cells.

Healthy indoor climate without allergies
A healthy indoor climate in a Plus+energy house is a given. The houses' well-designed, superior, and robust construction, as well as effective insulation, create a good, dry, and warm indoor climate, where the ventilation system keeps the relative humidity below 40% during the winter months, making life impossible or very difficult for the approximately 150 different species of dust mites, as they require a humidity level of more than 55% and an air temperature of 22 to 26 degrees Celsius.

Longest possible lifespan
We build our Plus+ energy houses from the best materials, in the right way and with the longest possible lifespan, so that your family and many future owners can get the most out of the house. The houses are well thought out and can be renovated, adapted, or reused for other purposes in many years to come, which is a huge plus for sustainability and our society. The Plus+energy house from Træhuse Nordsjælland is well thought out like no other modern wooden house on the market.

Conclusion
Based on the differences in construction and materials, Træhuse Nordsjælland is the best choice. Here, both the posts and rafters are placed closer together and are larger in size. There is a strong and rigid floor separation and extra floor beams evenly distributed throughout the house. The concrete floor on the first floor is heavily cast and built to withstand the weight of a bathtub.

Standard wooden house manufacturers provide thin molded flex flooring on plywood. Wooden Houses North Zealand also has higher ceilings, larger exterior doors and windows, and uses strong fiber plaster on the walls. The oak floors are solid and glued down, while other manufacturers use laminate flooring with only a 2-3 mm wear layer.

Træhuse Nordsjælland uses beautiful tile roofs with interlocking joints and an integrated surface, while standard wooden house manufacturers use concrete roofs that become unsightly after a few years. Træhuse Nordsjælland has underlay on all houses, and just like in the old days, windows and doors are sealed with insulation wool that is grouted from the outside. Standard manufacturers only use foam, which can cause moisture accumulation. Træhuse Nordsjælland uses an environmentally friendly and sustainable construction method without the use of chemicals, while standard wooden house manufacturers use pressure-treated wood throughout.

Finally, Træhuse Nordsjælland is built on the foundation of a simple and fair contract, where the customer is always at the center and can expect a thorough construction process. Standard wooden house manufacturers often use subcontractors and try to persuade customers to co-build, which has many pitfalls.

Choice of contract type

Choosing a contract type: Trade contract, total price contract, or main contract

When undertaking a construction project, it is important to choose the right contract type that best suits your needs and wishes. There are different types of contracts, including trade contracts, main contracts, and total price contracts. Each contract type has its own advantages and disadvantages, which are important to consider before making your choice. Here is an overview of the three types of contracts and their characteristics.

Trade contract
A trade contract means that you or your advisor are responsible for managing and coordinating the entire construction process. You must be in control of the design, including drawings and descriptions, as well as obtaining building permits, preparing tender lists, and drawing up an overall schedule. It is important that all of this is in place before you obtain quotes from the individual contractors. As the builder, you must draw up contracts with the tradespeople involved and ensure that you prepare a detailed schedule with input from the various trades. You are also responsible for resolving any disputes between the specialist contractors and assume full legal and financial responsibility. This requires you to be present at the construction site while the work is being carried out.

The advantage of specialist contracting is that you have full control over the construction process and can choose the specialist contractors you prefer. In addition, tendering the work in trade contracts can be cheaper than in other forms of contracting. The disadvantage is that it requires you to have experience as a builder and construction manager, as well as time to manage the project. If you do not have sufficient expertise, you may face financial and construction-related challenges.

General contractor
Ina general contractor arrangement, you or your advisor are responsible for all approvals and project materials for which the general contractor submits a bid. Once the contract has been signed, the general contractor manages the entire construction project from start to finish. This includes drawing up a schedule, managing subcontractors, and handling conflicts, legal issues, and finances. As the client, you only have a legal and financial relationship with the main contractor.

One advantage of a main contractor is that you can focus on the construction itself, as the main contractor is responsible for managing the project. However, there may be less competition when it comes to choosing contractors, as fewer contractors are able to take on the responsibility of coordination. A disadvantage of a main contract is that it does not include independent supervision of the quality of the work. It may therefore be a good idea to hire a professional supervisor to ensure quality.

Turnkey contract
In aturnkey contract, you leave the entire process to the turnkey contractor. You simply sign a contract, and the turnkey contractor takes care of everything. It should be noted that there are not many turnkey contractors who carry out renovations and extensions. Turnkey contracts are primarily used in connection with standard houses and summer house construction. The turnkey contractor has a professional design department with architects, engineers, and building designers who take care of the entire design process. The turnkey contractor carries out parts of the construction work themselves and enters into contracts with subcontractors. They manage the entire construction project and ensure that it is completed on time.

The advantage of turnkey contracts is that you only need to communicate with one person and can clarify all decisions directly with the turnkey contractor. You give the turnkey contractor a fixed sum of money, and they make sure to deliver the construction that can be achieved for that sum. A disadvantage of turnkey contracts is that the selection of contractors may be limited, and you need to be precise with your wishes and requirements early in the process to ensure that your expectations are met within your budget.

Recommendation and conclusion
When it comes to choosing between different types of contracts, turnkey contracts are often recommended for house construction, as they give customers peace of mind during the construction process. Træhuse Nordsjælland always offers turnkey contracts, as this gives our customers a sense of security and confidence in the construction process.

It is important to note that the choice of contract type depends on your specific construction project and your own resources and preferences. For smaller projects such as carports, conservatories, new roofs, new kitchens, or perimeter drains, a trade contract may be appropriate. For the construction of entire houses, larger extensions, extensive renovations, and complex rooms such as bathrooms, a main contract is recommended.

If you are unsure which type of contract would be most suitable for your project and would like an impartial assessment, it may be a good idea to consult your bank, lawyer, or other advisor who can provide guidance based on their experience and expertise.

The design process
Using mood boards and design proposals as part of the process is an excellent way to ensure that together we create the home you dream of. Here are some advantages of using mood boards and design proposals in our decision-making process:

Visualizing the vision
Mood boards allow you to visually understand what your wooden house will look and feel like before it is built. This helps you communicate your design ideas in a concrete way and allows you to see if it matches your expectations.

Identifying preferences
Mood boards help us better understand your preferences and style. This helps us tailor the design to your taste so that the wooden house reflects your personality and needs.

Collaboration and feedback
Mood boards make it easy for you to provide feedback and actively contribute to the design process. You can express your thoughts on the various elements, and we can adjust and adapt the design in collaboration with you.

Ensuring consistency
Mood boards allow us to ensure that the design follows a consistent style and aesthetic. This helps to create a harmonious home where all the elements fit together well.

Inspiration and creativity
Mood boards open up creativity and inspiration. We can present different design ideas and possibilities that you may not have thought of yourself. This can lead to unique and exciting solutions.

Effective communication
By using mood boards, we can avoid misunderstandings and misinterpretations in the design process. Visual representations are often more precise and clear than just describing the design with words.

Time and cost savings
Mood boards help make design decisions early in the process, which can save time and costs later on. This reduces the risk of having to make extensive changes during the construction phase.

Personal involvement
Mood boards allow you to feel more involved in the design process, as you can see your ideas take shape and develop.

By integrating mood boards and design proposals as an important part of your planning process, you will be more successful in fulfilling your wishes and creating a wooden house that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing and personally tailored to you.

THE HAMPTON'S STYLE DESIGN

Creating Your Dream Home

A guide to functional and inspiring interior design

Functional aesthetics
Begin your interior design journey by deciding how each room will be used. Træhuse Nordsjælland believes that each room should be designed in a way that maximizes its functional value while maintaining an inviting aesthetic appeal.

Brilliant ideas
Our partnership with Møller & Rothe gives us a unique opportunity to incorporate professional lighting plans into our projects. With a combination of basic lighting, mood lighting, and functional lighting, we can create atmosphere and illuminate your home in a unique and flattering way.

The common thread
Create a consistent style that runs like a common thread through your home. Whether you are a fan of mixing old and new or prefer a classic, stylish approach, it is essential to maintain a consistent style to create a calm and inviting environment.

The magic of materials
Surfaces and materials play a major role in creating a home that is both cozy and personal. Træhuse Nordsjælland believes that a home where most of the furniture and walls are white can still be super cozy and inviting when the right materials and personal touches, such as old jars, masks, books, and art, are given their place.

There is something quite special about the atmosphere in a summer cottage. By incorporating furniture such as benches, shelves, cupboards, and deep window sills, you can create this relaxed summer cottage atmosphere in your own home while maximizing the use of space and storage.

The Simple Life
Tidy up, sort through your belongings, and surround yourself only with the things you love and use. By simplifying your life in this way, you can create a relaxing atmosphere that gives you more energy in your everyday life.

Don't wait too long to buy your dream furniture. At Træhuse Nordsjælland, we believe that furniture is meant to be used and can always be replaced. Interior design is about more than just image—it's an expression of who you are.

, the mood board master Use mood boards to shape and present your interior design ideas for both indoor and outdoor spaces.
